on video LinuxCNC charge pump and e-stop

A parallel port LinuxCNC machine might act erratically and dangerously during boot or software crashes if certain precautions are not taken; in this video I build a charge pump detector and ISO-standard-compliant e-stop module to make the machine more predictable and safer to use.

Parallel-port breakout boards: Fully Buffered, Specifically Designed for PC control of CNC machines

Tiny Controls offers a range of fully-assembled and tested Parallel Port Break-out Boards for interfacing your CNC machine to a PC based controller like Mach3, Turbo CNC, EMC2, KCAM etc for CNC controlling.

All the outputs are fully buffered and the inputs are opto-isolated, filtered for noise and buffered. The CNC Parallel Boards are specifically designed for CNC control with features like charge pump CPGD for safety, emergency stop Estop, Relay on. Charge pump circuit operates from as low as 200 Hz to more than 15 KHz. Charge pump circuit can be disabled and the output can be used for other purposes if charge pump is not in use.

The other 2 signals can also be reclaimed for other usage making the system flexible. Moreover, LED indicators are provided for these three signals for easy diagnostics. Two (2) outputs are buffered twice separately and connected to independent terminals to enable hardware slaving of two stepper motors in parallel, if needed, in gantry style CNC machines.

Handmade high quality, low resistance, shielded male-to-male parallel port cable is included in package for interfacing the PC with breakout board through 26 pins FRC as well as DB 25 connector provided on the board.
