on video Dol starter wiring daigram

Electricians Matt and Joe look at the wiring and connection in a single phase direct online started (DOL). In this video we explains how to connect the supply and the out going load (motor) within in a DOL starter. Matt also explains the wiring for the overload plus the connection for the internal stop and start buttons. This wiring diagram will help with level 3 electrical courses for both electrical apprentices, part time, full time learners as well as AM2, AM2S and AM2E.

00:00 - Direct online starter connection

00:40 - 3 phase direct online on AM2 and AM2S

01:10 - Wiring diagram for a single phase DOL

01:29 - Parts of the drawing

01:54 - Line conductor

02:44 - Neutral conductor

04:32 - Start and stop buttons

04:47 - Retaining contacts 13 and 14

05:36 - 13 to the start button 17

06:00 - 14 to the start button 18

06:27 - Wiring up the stop button

07:15 - 95 and 96 normally close contacts

07:39 - 96 to A1

08:30 - Missing a conductor

08:54 - Common mistakes with the neural to A2

09:19 - 3 to A2 with the neutral

09:43 - Tracing the circuit

11:01 - How does the coil work

12:51 - Currents

13:30 - setting the overload

Videos are training aids for City and Guilds (C and G) and EAL courses Level 1, 2, 3 plus AM2, AM2S and AM2E.
