Three phase electrical 400v wiring installation in home ON VIDEO

Three phase electrical 400v wiring installation in home

Most domestic electrical installations are powered by single phase. But it is still possible to encounter electrical installations wired in three-phase. This is often the case in renovations.

If single-phase remains the simplest solution for designing electricity, some people want to keep three-phase. Moreover, if the three-phase is not common among individuals, it is customary in professional premises.

It is therefore essential to fully understand the interest and implications of a design and a three-phase electrical connection.

You understood, I will talk about three-phase in this article:

Preamble to the article on Three-phase and theory:
Explanations on the three-phase that will not please everyone:
I know that physics classes traumatized a lot of people in middle school and high school.

In this article, I will therefore not go into details in the theory part.

I could talk to you about sinusoids, alternating regimes, compound electrical voltages or even pulsations. But all this would not necessarily serve you in the field.

The idea is therefore not to fill you with theoretical notions that are accessible everywhere on the net but to approach them quickly to enter more detail at the practical level in the context of work.

Simplified three-phase theory:
So what about three-phase simply in the theory part?

I will go quickly and surely make the purists of the theory jump:

The three-phase as its name suggests is a system offering three elements.
A three-phase current system consists of three electric currents.
These three electric currents circulate on different wires (3 electric wires).
On each wire flows a current which is shifted in time with respect to the other electric currents.
Note: it is possible to replace the term current by electrical voltage.

Production, transport of electric and three-phase current:
The electrical network in France is distributed in three phase.

Three-phase and electrical installation in France
Electrical distribution in France – Three-phase
This technological choice does not come out of the hat since this electrical distribution stems from several facts:

Power is produced using machines called "alternators". This alternator produces three-phase current.
The distribution is then done in three-phase and under very high voltage for reasons of savings and efficiency that I explain in part here.
The electrical distribution arrives as close as possible to the user in this three-phase form.

The "creation" of the single-phase is done from the three-phase from the voltage transformers.

The three-phase in tertiary and industrial, the interest:
It is among professionals that the three-phase electrical installation is the most interesting for several reasons:

The distributed current is greater.
Three-phase currents make it possible to run industrial machines and more particularly motors.
The phase-to-phase voltage is higher.
