Using 5V 1 channel relay module for Arduino

Using 5V 1 channel relay module for Arduino

In this tutorial i will show you how to make a 5 Volt Single Channel Relay Shield For Arduino, PIC, AVR.

Construct the Circuit as shown in the image. The circuit shown is designed for Arduino, PIC & other Micro Controller.

Features:

1. Can controlled by a lots of Micro-controllers (Such as for Arduino, 8051, AVR, PIC, DSP, ARM, ARM, MSP430, PLC, TTL logic, Raspberry pi)

2. This shield can control various appliances, and other equipment with large current (Note: This depends on the relay your using, for ex: I am using a relay which is rated at 240V & 5A, So you can only control which uses rating under 240v & 5A)

3. This module can be controlled just by 5V input signal

4. This circuit can also be modified to work without any programmer. The circuit for that is given in the next step.

Important Notes:

1. For test I am using BLINK Program which is available in the Arduino Software with some changes.

2. An Alternate circuit for the viewers who want to avoid programming and control the relay with direct 5V is shown at the end of the video

3. In the video the testing was done using 12V source, You can also test this circuit with 240V/5A (which is my rated rela value) (Please be careful while high voltage)

In this circuit diagram the relay is made active with the help of a Battery. This circuit can be used as a test circuit for checking the relay
