Relay vs Transistor - Difference between Relay and Transistor

Relay vs Transistor - Difference between Relay and Transistor

The difference between the relay and transistor is explained. When the Base voltage of the transistor is zero (or negative), the transistor is cut-off and acts as an open switch. In this condition, no Collector current flows. And the relay coil is de-energized because being current devices, if no current flows into the Base, then no current will flow through the relay coil.

You are watching simple DIY video about How to Use Transistor as Relay.

"The Purpose of this circuit is to save the time (micro or milliseconds) which relay is wasting in doing mechanical work. As we know that some circuit require fast switching On/off system e.g. Arduino projects so transistor is the best alternate in that type of circuits because transistor works very much faster as compare relay which is dependent on mechanical switching principle by using current."

Hi viewers! In this video I am going to show you how to use any NPN Transistor as DC Relay or Switch by using cheap NPN Transistor and 1K or 10K resistor depending on input voltage.
