 High Power SCR Board For Fishing Machine

  The principle of self-consumption is to produce exactly what we consume for a rational and therefore optimal investment.

It is indeed easy to produce 500 watts constantly all day but it becomes difficult to accept the peak consumption of a cumulus of 2500 watts for 2 hours.

  Thanks to this dimmer that I installed directly under my cumulus, I lower the voltage at its input to reach around 800 watts. So my electrical production is almost completely consumed by my cumulus.

  On the other hand, it will have to be powered for 7 hours for the same level of heating which is not a problem because my solar panels are all around my house.


It should be noted that there is of course a little bit of loss during dimming. But in the end this makes it possible to smooth out this peak in consumption and therefore absorb the majority of it thanks to the panel.


  The cumulus being my most consuming electrical device, it is also the one powered daily. Reducing this expense simply cuts my electricity bill in half immediately when the sun is out.

Of course there would have been the solution of an energy router which has the function of sending the overflow produced to a cumulus but the cost of this device is 25 times higher. This power variator is the dream low-cost solution.


  Depending on your electrical power you can choose the graduation level and therefore the energy consumed. Be careful, however, not to set the setting too minimally, which will prevent your tank from completely heating to a temperature below 70 degrees.

  In fact, Legionnaires' disease could develop there if you do not heat it completely to this temperature at least once a week. So I recommend putting it at least a third of the value in summer and only half in winter because your duration of sunshine will not allow your tank to be completely heated.

  It should also be noted that in the minimum position, there is still an intensity that passes as you can see in my video where I placed an incandescent light to do my tests.

  In the general remarks it should be noted that this device is absolutely not waterproof and therefore should not be placed in a humid environment.

The case is made of metal for better heat dissipation but the metal is not connected to earth, which I invite you to add for your safety.

  In my tests I found that it heats up a lot and therefore it should not be put in a box that is too closed. It will still need to be protected to prevent children from touching it.

The photos you see are only to check the values and make this video and do not correspond to the final installation situation.


  There is no need to connect the neutral wire as this dimmer only uses phase to operate.

It is not intended to use anything other than 250 volts alternating current.

There is no documentation provided.


This variator allows you to scale any resistive load such as a heating resistance of a cumulus or an electric oven. On the other hand, it is not suitable for varying the speed of a motor which is a capacitive load. This will be possible on the sole condition of starting the motor with minimum power and then slowly increasing the voltage.
