I demonstrated the atx psu based on TL494/KA7500, it uses LM339 comparator ic. it works as an ATX supervisor ic for housekeeping and monitoring all atx functions and it shuts down TL494/KA7500 in all abnormal cases (over voltage, under voltage, short circuit, over current) it will pull pin 4 of the TL494/KA7500 which is the timeout control pin when this pin is pulled above 2 volts it shuts down the ATX and disables the SMPS controller option
without disabling Remove short circuit protection, it prevents atx operation by automatically shutting down under voltage, over voltage and over current conditions. So you can change/disable the short circuit and overload computer ATX power supply into car battery charger or lab power supply for your electronic workbench or you can make it DC variable.
