on video ULN2003 INTEGRATED CIRCUIT WATER LEVEL SENSOR

Circuit Water Level Indicator using the ULN2004

The ULN2004 is an integrated circuit that has arrays of Darlington transistors (7), which is ideal for making the interface between logic circuits and loads that can be motors for example. Its inputs are compatible with TTL and CMOS technology, it has a maximum output current of 500mA and a maximum voltage of 95Volts.

The ULN2004

Widely used with Arduino to manage stepper motors and to interface low-level logic circuits to various peripheral power loads, high-voltage and high-current Darlington matrices that feature a continuous current load of up to 500 mA for each of its outputs.

Water level indicator

This is a very simple electronic liquid level indicator, it uses the ULN2004 CMOS integrated circuit, which is composed of 7 matrix channels using Darlington transistors as seen above. Each channel can have a working current of 500 mA and withstand current surges of 600 mA.

This water level indicator with ULN2004 is very simple and requires few electronic components. The operation is simple, as the water level in the tank increases, the water comes into contact with the tips P1 to P7 and thus, make the pins of the 7 channels light their LEDs in sequence.

When reaching pin P7, the last pin at the highest level, a buzzer BZ1 is activated to notify that the maximum level has been reached. We can put a relay in place of the buzzer and with a few more adaptations we can make the circuit turn a water pump on and off automatically.

The power supply can be between 9 Volts and 12 Volts and the current can be less than 1 Ampere. LEDs 1-6 are green and LED 7 should be red.
