The Cracker was designed (not by me) as a very simple live steam loco for 32mm gauge track.
It has an oscillating engine and a geared drive to the wheels and is based on an industrial engine.
It can be customised in many forms. I have made a larger T boiler to resemble the Byers engine the model was based on. The chassis is changed also. A water gauge and safety valve fitted and gas tank concealed under the footplate.
I am just going to show how the engine was made in these videos not a complete build. I liked the simple design and how the bottom of the cylinder is extended as a trunk guide.
