on video 3 Circuits with Thyristor C106

 Description

The SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier or Silicon Controlled Rectifier, is a bistable semiconductor device formed by three pn junctions with the pnpn arrangement. The conduction between anode and cathode is controlled by the gate terminal. It is a unidirectional element, almost ideal switch, rectifier and amplifier at the same time.

The SCR needs a minimum holding current (IH) to keep it on and a latching current (IL) so that the device can stay on when the gate pulses are removed.

The TIC106D is a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) designed primarily for half-wave alternating current (AC) control applications such as motor controls, heater controls, and power supply lever circuits. It has a rugged little Thermowatt built for low thermal resistance, high heat dissipation, and durability.

Voltage block at 800 V

20 W front peak gate power

Average gate power 0.5 W forward

Forward gate current 2A

Thermal resistance, junction to box 1.5°C/W

Applications: HVAC, Lighting, consumer electronics, instrumentation and measurement, industrial
