Police lights are flashing lights that are used by police cars, ambulances, fire trucks, and military vehicles for emergency purposes. In this tutorial, we will learn how to make a police light circuit by using a 555 Timer. This circuit simulates the police car lights by alternately flashing red and blue color LEDs.
The diagram for police lighting is seen in the figure above. The timer produces flashes of roughly 100ms. The time of ON is 50ms, and the time of OFF is 50ms. You can change this time by adjusting the capacitor value.

2-1k Ohm Resistor
