on video Section Insulator Assembly (Erection)

 Section Insulator Assembly (Erection)

NKI insulators are composite suspension/tensioner insulators with a silicone layer. They are intended to be installed on power lines that have a nominal voltage of up to 52 kV.

Positron test equipment on high voltage lines for porcelain, composite and polymer insulators

Protect personnel safety, avoid costly power outages in substations and power lines

• Safe to use does not make electrical contact with lines or insulators

• Proven electric field detection methodology and technology

• Does not depend on line of sight, heat (infrared), corona discharge (ultraviolet) or acoustics which have limited reliability

• 100% reliable in detecting all conductive faults, including early stage faults and contamination, for glass, porcelain and composite insulators

Safe, simple and precise

Faults on insulators may have seriously compromised their mechanical integrity. This can lead to prolonged power outages and downed power lines and high voltage substations. Representing a loss cost in operation as well as risks for people and our environment.

Positron Insulator Testers are revolutionary, lightweight, easy-to-use tools that record faults and reveal unsafe conditions on suspension insulators, high voltage circuit breakers, bushings and energized lightning arresters. Positron insulator testers detect and record the electric field distribution along insulators, revealing any faults in the insulation. Electric Field Testers can be used on all types of insulation (porcelain, composite, glass* for contamination assessment, etc.) and are safe, easy to use, simple, and produce inherently accurate results.

The operational integrity of high voltage insulators is a priority, especially considering that damaged or electrically deficient insulation can lead to system failure, serious injury, fire or death. Positron's insulator testers are a major step forward in assuring insulator integrity, enabling safe and reliable assessment of the performance of critical high voltage insulators.
