on video How a Military Helicopter Works

The Mi-24 is in a class of its own, this is the only aircraft that is also the most commonly employed attack helicopter of all time and was used by as many as 60 countries.

This helicopter is a response to the AH1 Huey Cobra.

The US Army's development and employment of gunships and attack helicopters during the Vietnam War persuaded the Soviets of the benefits of armed helicopter ground support, resulting in backing for the Mi-24's development.

In the 1960, it was used as an anti-tank or close-air-support rotorcraft, and because of its massive size, and thanks to its large cabin it could fit up to eight fully equipped troops, it also has a considerable assault transport capability.Video footage shows Russian made combat helicopters in action during several miliary training exercises involving close air support filmed from several angles including GoPro cameras. Most helicopters shown in the video are the MIL MI-24  Kamow KA-52 Alligator.

is a large helicopter gunship, attack helicopter and low-capacity troop transport with room for eight passengers. It is produced by Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant and has been operated since 1972 by the Soviet Air Force and its successors, along with 48 other nations

In NATO circles, the export versions, Mi-25 and Mi-35, are denoted with a letter suffix as  Soviet pilots called the Mi-24 the    term used historically with the famous World War II Soviet Il-2 Shturmovik armored ground attack aircraft. More common unofficial  due to the helicopter's camouflage scheme and  because of the flat glass plates that surround earlier Mi-24 variants' cockpits.
