on video 6 Prong Three Phase Motor Connection | 6 terminals

6 Prong Three Phase Motor Connection | 6 terminals

This video explains the star connection in a 6-point three-phase motor, the star connection supports a high voltage, that is, 440V, and among all the possible connections, it is very common to find this type of connection in any industrial machine. The video also explains a common problem that can arise from not correctly tightening the cables or connection terminals and the consequences of doing so.This video will explain how to perform a direct start of an electric motor, and how to make the connections in the motor's terminal box, either delta or star.
Here I show you connections for different voltages in squirrel cage motors, generally for delta connection with 6 terminals it is 220vac, but in some motors they work at 440vac, so always check the motor nameplate, for connection with 12 star terminals or double star is 380vac, for series delta it is 440vac and for series star 440vac or in some cases 760vac. I consider that if in both cases according to the nameplate the motor works at 440vac in series star and delta, it is advisable to leave it in series delta since in this connection the motor has more torque than in the series star connection.
