 In this diy tutorial i will show you how to make a  simple voltage regulator using a LM317T.It's a easy circuit for beginner who are getting into diy electronics.


The LM317 is a popular adjustable positive linear voltage regulator.The voltage rating  is between 1.25 and 36 volts DC.LM317 commonly requires a heat sink to prevent the operating temperature from rising too high.If you trying to use this for powering other circuits i strongly recommend a buck boost converter as this voltage regulator is very inefficient.

Parts List


1 × LM317 voltage regulator

1 × 1K ohm resistor

1 × 10k ohm pot

1 × board

1 × heatsink

2 × 0.1uf capacitors

2 × pcb connectors

and a couple of wires.
